1 - Q: I’m having problems in finding a solution with my supplier’s warehouse because I need to use a specific product identification method. Please can you help me solve this problem?
R. Our IT system is highly adaptable to different needs because it has been produced directly by us. It is easy to integrate new requirements. Changes made to documents including special printed tracking details can be solved quickly and easily.
2 - Q: We know our design very well but not the die casting process and we would like to see it clearly. How can you help us?
R. We take care of the equipment design phase down to the tiniest detail interacting with the customer’s technical office to ensure we achieve safe and easy to press castings.
3 - Q: We had a cast made in China but it doesn’t work, can FPT help us?
R. Most definitely, yes. We can, for example, perform maintenance operations on the mould and come up with small interventions to make it productive. We can also take care of the fine tuning and sampling phases before moving on to the batch pressing.
4 - Q: I need a casting process which can include parts in another material. Is this possible?
R. Yes, for years now we have been producing castings which include brass or steel components. Our experience ensures you of excellent results.
5 - Q: Can cast aluminium be protected from atmospheric agents?
R. Yes. We would advise you to choose an aluminium alloy from those we have been using for many years such as anticorrosive alloys. We can then evaluate, by means of specific tests, if it is better to treat the surface with paint or with anodic oxidation.
6 - Q. Is it possible to achieve minimum tolerances on a die cast?
R. Yes, normally you can achieve very tight tolerances in order to avoid the need for mechanical workings.
7 - Q. Is it possible to test our parts with different types of alloys?
R. In the majority of cases the answer is yes and using the same mould. In this case, we are talking about making a detailed analysis of the geometry of the part and the features you require in the casting.
8 - Q. We often need small quantities of moulds compared to our past requirements. Can FPT provide this service?
R. We are organised in such way as to be able to change the moulds frequently and this allows us to always be more in coherence with our customers’ needs. We can supply small batches, also for only a few hundred pieces, without heavily impacting on the price.
9 - Q. Do our moulds remain on loan at the foundry?
R. Yes, we can supply your moulds and store them in our dedicated storage area for the best management and storage of your investment. Every mould has its own documentation showing all the preventive and corrective maintenance performed.
10 - Q. I have several parts to be produced with gravity pouring and others with die casting. Can FPT assist me?
R. We can take care of the entire production both for those with gravity pouring and those for die casting as well as offering alternative solutions.
11 - Q. I’m not sure how the market will react to my new product? Can FPT help me?
R. We can produce prototypes and pilot moulds whilst waiting for definite quantities and subsequently produce the most suitable equipment.
12 - Q. Does FPT carry out post pressing workings?
R. Yes and we also take care of the subsequent pressing phases by making ourselves well aware of the critical issues after having been in contact with our customers’ technical and quality offices. The design phases and the casting methods are coherent with the specifications and the subsequent working phases to guarantee the best results in terms of efficiency and cost reductions.
